What is the difference between coaching and therapy?

People often ask me this question. Typically, therapy looks at your present situation in relation to your past – how you grew up, what your relationship with your parents is like, what role you played in your family.  Therapists and psychologists are equipped to diagnose personality traits and disorders.

And while I am a big fan of therapy, executive coaching is different.

Executive coaches often have a business background that complements their knowledge about human nature and are trained in coaching techniques to help clients look at the present moment and the future.
